About the Event

Toronto Beyond the Blue is proud to bring back Mental Health First Aid to our membership. 

Registration: $100 deposit which will be refunded upon successful completion of the course.

Course delivery: Sat Mar 6 & Sun Mar 7  

MHFA will be delivered using a self directed module and two facilitator led modules.

Self directed module must be completed by Tues Mar 2

Facilitator led modules will be on Sat Mar 6 and Sun Mar 7 from 9am-12pm

Requirements:

- each participant must have their own computer with high speed internet

- each participant must be able to log into zoom

- must attend both facilitator led modules with the same group

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the support provided to a person who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis.  Course participants will learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to:

  • Talk about declines in their mental well-being
  • Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being
  • Reach out to these support
  • Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis
  • Use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being
