About the Event

Supporting a loved one with Operational Stress Injuries can feel overwhelming. Knowing what to expect and having some skills can make it easier.

There is evidence to show that education and support to family members of those living with OSI can be a key in recovery and family well-being.

‘pulse’ workshops were developed and are facilitated by spouses who have personal experience living with someone with an OSI. They have created an engaging and interactive workshop and offer families of first responders the opportunity to learn:

❑ The basics of OSI, how your loved one may be impacted and what to expect

❑ Possible effects on families, and how to talk to your children about OSI

❑ Strategies on how to support a loved one with OSI

❑ The importance of self compassion and how to create a self care plan

❑ A tool to help step back and look at challenging situations
